Regularly travel by this train from MBM/GDY to VM on weekends and I have to say this train is very useful for people who "reverse commute" from Chennai to Chengalpattu and beyond. Usually runs 30-45 mins with a delay compared to the timings in timetable which itself has a huge time built in for this short distance. One note of caution is to if u want to go to Pondicherry in this train, don't take this train unless you love trains or have patience to sit through the journey. Buses are frequent and faster comparatively. Usually stops at CGL for multiple crossings for around 30 mins and again at Mailam/Perani for Pallavan exp. crossing. But I always love taking this train instead of Guruvayur exp. which arrives at VM almost the same for the sole purpose of getting a good window seat or a full vacant seat to lie down and...
