its a very good train. It's cheap,it takes only 9.45 hrs,its really a great super fast train but it would be very comfortable if it will run from SDAH.I request our honorable Minister to look after this issue.@bir
i think its not a bad move to start the new trains from kolkata station. personally i like that station. its clean, not at all crowded. and sealdah is already having to deal with many trains with hardly 2 platforms (the rest are mostly used by local trains). however i accept that getting to the station is an issue as there are no buses or autos from the nagerbazar road to the station and walking distance is like 10 mins which is difficult with luggages. but taxis are available whenever the trains arrive. the drivers are aware of the timings and hence come to the station as and when trains arrive. Heard that a new road is being built by the railways from bidhan nagar station to kolkata station to enable passengers to reach the station easily (cannot say for sure)
hey if the lowest time that to be achived by any train to reach New Jalpaiguri, should run from Howrah Station via Dankuni,Bardhaman,Rampurhat. This is the most fastest route towards NJP.As trains from Howrah takes arround 20min to reach Dankuni, after this station every train get accelarated to high speed. But from Kolkata or Sealdah Station It takes arround 40-45min to reach Dankuni for a superfast train. So 9hr 45min scheduled given is not practically true.this time can only be achived by Superfast Train From train,in practical since it never been achived so far now.lowest time achived by Darjeeling Mail about 10hr 15min.
