A very good point raised by you that most of the rly land is extracted by the British from poor peasant of thr country & it came almost free of cost unlike today where you've to compensate 3 times the existing market value of the land to the owner... So a strong reason that IR shouldn't deviate itself from serving the subsidized poor in the country..
Also in this regard I would like to raise a pt by which IR is actually doing social service.. It gives employment to almost 1.3 million(largest aggregate employer of the country) & over time it has changed the rules of recruitment ...

---- Rail ministry is not a NGO. As a part of GoI, it is responsibility to generate employment. You will be strange to know that only 1.5 lakhs employment has been generated by government of India in last financial year against promised 1 crore. So, duty & responsibility of RM is increased more.

Good response really? Ab mujhe 2014 ke bjp campaign ka dialogue yaad aa raha hai that "महंगाई बढ़ाने वालों जनता माफ़ नहीं करेगी ab up election me congress ka dialouge hoga "राजधानी को राजाओं की ट्रैन बनाने वालों जनता माफ़ नहीं करेगी" hamare desh me aaj kal ye normal hai agar public gussa hai to ab wo protest nahi karti taki aur selfish neta paida ho wo election ke waqt apni ungli dabakar narajgi dikha deti hai or jo log yha kah rhe k railway ko profit bhi kamana hai to fir 7th pay commission kyo lagu kiya waise h sarkari log bina rishwat ke kam krte nahi kuch karte hai to hus mukhiya marte hai ya office me bethkar rangeeliya karte hai jahir si bat hai 7th pay comissionn ka load hai ir par to ek aam admi se h to vasulega sarkari netao ya afsaro se to nhi na...or...

As the time is less and being a weekend and even Monday/Tuesday being bakrid holiday travellers are compelled to travel at 1.5times base fare in tatkal.but the same may not be when u take 2-3 months down the line in weekdays. Demand I'll be there during weekends and festivals.I have checked Visakhapatnam Hyderabad for 15 days advance booking by air yesterday for a weekday and its rs 1409 for 5 flights throughout various timezones while Duronto 3AC costs 1200 when its base fare.
