Today i m going to bust some myths that indian railways is heavily subsidized and all that..I am going to compare the fare of indian semi bullet train Gatimaan with Semi bullet (D class max speed 250 kmph) plying between shanghai and Hangzhou..
The distance between shangai and Hangzhou is almost 160 km and fare varies from 8-9 USD if converted in rupees then it will cost something around 560-630 ₹ while nzm and agc are almost 190 KM apart and mps of gatimaan is just 160 even though its fare varies between 800-1500...so in that case how can we say that indian railways is heavily subsided ?

paying to retired person is ok because it it is not going to last more then 30-40 years because pension scheme for those railway who are employed after 2003 is changed they will not be rewarded with regular pension . but if you are a railway employee you have to serve 10 months in a year (two month leave with full pay) and you will awarded 15 months of salary a year ( 12 month salary + 90 days bonus )which is totally rubbish .

I think there are 36-40 lakh central government employees and atleast one family of 4-5 people is directly dependent and many other are indirectlydependent and influenced by each particular employee and hence about 2-5 crore people are affected by governments approach towards these employees...and total voters in india must be 70-80 crores out of which only 60% vote generally which means 48-50 crore people cast their vote in india...and as we know that govt. Employees (central/state are education and 90% of them cast their vote and they also are used to perform election duties) so employees play a decisive role in elections..Hence its not politically fruitful to hurt them :)

of course it is not going to fruitful for govt. if they hurt these employees. but only railway employees are awarded with this high bonus other govt. employees such as defence is not awarded with such high amount . nowdays railways employees are like drug addicts they are addicted to bonus and if they are kept away with this they will start showing withdrawal symptoms which will result in Strikes .

Partially correct 75 days bonus or 7k whichever is lesser, you know 75 days salary of a DRM? Still he gets only 7k festival bonus, not only applicable to IR but to all govt employees
