If u come to South india eventhough few people speak and understand Hindi but majority will prefer their mother tongue language only to speak and prefer english only when they cannot able to speak Hindi, India means not only Hindi other languages too was very important. Nobody can force/advise to learn other languages its upto the individual choice.
