No all the 6 trains from Shirdi to New Delhi are direct in the shortest distance possible. SNSI and KPG are the stations people use to visit Shirdi. All 6 trains use the same main Double-Electrified track from MMR-BSL-ET-JHS-New Delhi.

myself have travelled from JHS to SNSI in 22456 in UR. It was empty, I got seat at JHS itself.

Shirdi itself is well connected and serviced by a lot of exclusive trains from all over India. It has political patronage so..... but most of them run half empty...... The people who alighted at SNSI from 22456 were very less. I have gone there: its not over crowded like Tirupathi. Most are people of Mah or AP. For other people too lots of trains.

These separate category trains like Skr, Duronto are introduced with a set of conditions for stoppages but as time passes with exploding population, public-political pressure it is becomes necessary to give stops.

Mr Patel in above comment was alluding to the point the raw deal Karnataka has got in terms of trains. Apart from NE-India, Karnataka is the worst among other states, in terms of railway network or electrification.

Ex: The people of backward region like Hyderabad-Karnatak region don't have a single train to their capital Bengaluru. Trains that pass thru there just have few seats and UR which the poor use is already full.
The same goes to Mumbai-Karnatak region that this train (KSK) passes thru. Those people (Belagavi-Hubbali region) have to depend on these long distance trains; as exclusive trains to their capital or national capital are just few. If seats are allotted to all other stations then these trains too become inaccessible to them.

It already is a hopeless situation for the people of Karnataka - in the sense - trains to their capital is almost zero. But trains from all over India to Bengaluru are many. Its like you have no place in your own house. Many riots and disturbances that take place are a reflection of this anger that people here experience in many walks of life, of which this is also one.

Its an interesting exercise:
Take a state and count the trains that districts and regions of that state have exclusively to connect to their capital. Its important because - people don't just go to their capital for official work, but also the poor hit by drought and poverty travel to their capitals to eke out a living doing some menial jobs, so its necessary to have trains for their capital. In that exercise you will see Karnataka as one of the worst apart from NE-India.
