there was a time when there were not enough trains from bihar to delhi and hence poorva used the patna route on some days. however now there are enough trains from bihar to delhi and also from patna to howrah. so why does this train has to take a longer - single line route anymore. it can use the gaya route now. the same also applies for howrah rajdhani which goes once a week via patna, as there are other rajdhanis that go via patna now

First of all, Sir, Patna route is not a single line...and second...poorva runs faster on the Patna route if you don't mind checking :) Ofc course, we could have done better with fewer stops..but that's not in our hands
