Panval viaduct is around 64m tall and 425m long. On the northern side (towards Mumbai side) is ‘Benewadi’ tunnel, 1100 m long and ‘Tike’ tunnel on its southern approach (towards Goa side) is 4017 m long (yes, 4 km!). One of the Konkan Masterpieces and it was a short and simple visit during monsoon season. Monsoons in the Konkan is unpredictable. Bright sunshine can be followed by extreme thundershowers and all can change in a matter of seconds.
