Is WDAP5 really needed?
Its a dual traction loco(diesel+electric) loco, based on WDP4D can be run as electrc loco on sections with OHE and diesel on unwired sections.
Top Speed 135km/h, Axle Load 21T, expected rollout date December 2017

for some routes where some parts are electrified it can be good, no need of loco change, just shift of settings like automatic transmission cars.
can be tried in few sections, if doesnt work out then should be pulled out.

Could be, but the rate at which sections are being electrified,i don't see much future for them, it's true that some sections would be non electrified, but then we have enough HHP EMDs
the number should be limited only.
no need to produce in abundance, as its quite costly setup.
