Great
Here are some guidelines for members regarding the new Report button and the revamped FM system:
1. If you have ANY complaint about a blog or ANY other issues, please USE the Report button and file a Complaint. Most complaints are resolved by FMs within seconds/minutes. (Some require further discussion). FMs have the tools and the privileges to resolve most issues quickly.
.
2.
...
FMs have been given clear guidelines NOT go around HUNTING for issues. For example, there may be some old archived blog which is offensive. If you have an issue with it, then Report it. There is no point in lamenting, "Look at Entry# ... FMs are doing nothing". Unless a Complaint is filed, FMs will usually not know about it, and nothing will be done. This is because FMs are NOT supposed to scan thousands of blogs looking for issues and blogs to archive/delete. This is by deliberate design. If FMs come across issues, they may themselves file a Complaint. But they are NOT supposed to go through thousands of blogs looking for what to delete, etc.
.
3. If you come across some controversy or offensive post, members are NOT allowed to PUBLICLY LAMENT about it:
"Look at this... What he is saying... FMs are not doing anything... so forth", "Highly offensive language. Why are FMs not deleting it?", etc.
Writing angry replies blaming FMs, other members, the heavens, etc. achieves NOTHING, and instead, foments the controversy making it bigger and derailing the blog. But, if you Report it, it will usually be resolved within minutes.
.
4. The rules are VERY SIMPLE. If you have a problem, FILE a COMPLAINT. The issue will be handled. Do NOT publicly lament about it.
.
5. If there are NO complaints filed about a blog, then it means that all bloggers are FINE with it. If it is found that some member has issues with a blog, but INSTEAD of filing a Complaint, he is using the opportunity to stir up a public controversy derailing the blog, then it WILL be considered deliberate MISCHIEF. FMs are advised to BAN such a member immediately.
.
6. Finally, please note that although FMs are there to serve the Forum, it is up to the members themselves to be VIGILANT and Report issues promptly. FMs have their own personal life as well. Their time is precious too. They are doing a service to the Forum. Pl. help them help you. Not doing your part, and then blaming someone else does not solve problems.
.
Thanks.
