That's Vaishali for u. Can't say about other trains, but NER is always very preferntial towards Vaishali. Mind u it was once under NER-GKP-Zone.
And Vaishali used to over take GD and BSK whenever there was delayed run in that section, when it used to run via LJN (NER).

Gonda received Vaishali because it was coming from mainline and humsafar was coming from Loop line to enter Gonda from Loop line trains has to cover a huge curve of about 3km with a PSR of 30 while mainline trains has a straight path that's why NER recieved Vaishali first nothing else
