Implementation record of MUTP had been very poor and many a times angry World Bank have threatened to suspend the loan for MUTP. Always a completion period of 5 years is targeted and actual implementation take double time leading to cost escalation and extreme hardships to commuters.

MUTP II-5300 Crores-WB1910+IR1695+Maha1695-Revised cost 7007 Crore Started in jun 2010 and mid way And still likely to take a few more years for completion. Actual completion cost is likely to be 9000-10000 crores.

MUTP III-11000 Crores-WB+AsiaIUnfrastructureInvestment Bank+IR+MahaGovt- Approved on 30.11.16 with completion period of 5 years! And allocation for 2017-18 being 411 (total 900 crores including loan component?). At this rate the completion if 5 years appear very improbable and accordingly there will be cost escalation too!
