There is no such railway line that connects Jammu Tawi to Srinagar, although both stations have railway lines.

so then why only jammu. then its true for any station. no train can ever go to srinagar from any place as its not connected. so that was my earlier point. as long as there is connectivity, all stations are connected to all.

ok...it was me who said jammu. just took it as an example as it seemed at one extreme corner. could have considered okha or dibrugarh or ernakulam also.....for same reasons. anyways any plans to connect jammu to srinagar?

There are plans but remember the challenge of getting through the hills to the valley. It is going to be much more difficult than KR.
