Dear Moderator/Seasoned Railfans
I am full of praise for people behind Railinfo, but I have a question. Is the HQ/HO quota availability information authentic? Pick any train, 2441 Rajdhani for eg, and we see that this quota is never utilized for any dates. Why is this so? Is HO/HQ quota released to GNWL/RLWL passengers at charting?

But Manish, How come this quota is never ever utilized? I have not seen even a single booking even in rush seasons. The railway website even doesn't mention about this quota at all.
Yes, the railway website does not mention about this quota and various other quotas like Defence, Foreign Tourist, etc and there is no way to find availability under such quotas in the official railway site. It is not true that this quota is not utilized at all. If you check the availability under this quota a few hours before chart preparation for a train, you will find there is some movement.People who have contacts with higher officials and ministers mainly make use of this quota as they are aware of this.But yes, many times this quota is not completely utilized as very few people are aware of this.
I was able to find at least one eg- 2394 between NDLS-PNBE (political hotspots!), where there is a slight movement in HO/HQ status and thus vouching for authenticity of Railinfo data. The fact that HO/HQ info is not available in railway website, speaks volumes about intelligence and technical competence of Railinfo team. Hats off! Keep it up.
I have observed for some train & it had been utilized many times. Remember HO Quota will be released before one hour of chart preparation as per the requests available for it & remaining HO quota used to confirm general & other wait lists.
