Is it a western Ghat Blunder of Southern Railway...
Twin Engine to be used for PLR - EDMN service. As Single Engine not able to pull the 18 coaches train due to the gradient and sharp Curves . An Engine Will be stationed at PLR station .Will it be profitable for the Railway to use dual Engines for all trains which runs through the route. Wonder what will be happen to the EDMN- AYK Stretch. More Extreme hurdles are awaiting.

Bankers have nothing to do with expenses. If CRS says bankers are required, then it has to be provided. Further 18 coach BG rake is far more heavier than 14 coach MG rake. Anyways, passenger traffic be it Rajdhani or EDMN - QLN Pass runs at a loss. It is subsidised by charging high freight charges.
