As a passenger, Travel time and comfort over everything else.
As a rail fan, would prefer to experience as many types of locomotives and rolling stock as possible. It would be quite boring and disappointing to see only one or two varieties of locomotives and coaches everywhere!! Variety is the one that makes rail-fanning very interesting!
