Although Palakkad is geographically situated in Central Kerala, Majority of the Dist. belongs to the Erstwhile Malabar Dist. which includes Palakkad,Mannarkkad,Ottapalam & Pattambi except Chittur & Alathur which was under Cochin Presidency.
What is the point in arraiving at dead night in PUU ? Will it not be inconvenient to passengers
Guruvayoor also was part of Malabar, but today not with Palakkad Dt. That time only three district was there Cannanore-Calicut-Palakkad with HQ at CLT. (Another district was Canara now with Karnataka)
Although it starts and ends at Punalur, more importance is given for the timings of other Imp stations like Kollam , Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur & Palakkad as it expects more commuters from these stations especially office-goers.
