* Seats of ACDD are not reclining or semi sleeper. There was a report that, if the seats of ACDD are made semi reclining to facilitate overnight travel, the carrying capacity shall drastically come down from existing 120 to around 90 (just slightly more than 80 seats of ACIII coach). The inconvenience of double deck shall still be there.
*In buses, 3 tier berths are not possible, so many sleeper berths cannot be offered. So, they go for semi sleeper seats.

Bus operators working under the intense competition had been :
(1) investing heavily in the usage of latest technology and fuel efficient buses and
(2) continuously innovating with different sizes of buses with innovative layouts to optimize the passenger comforts
(3) resorted to new strategies of operation with respect to choice of destination and segregating of stoppages so as to take care of convenience of all sections of passengers
(4) Innovative marketing strategies to maximise revenue along with maximum patronage through dynamic fares
(5)able to achieve a much higher growth in traffic and profits.

*Under the protection of monopoly status over rail operation, IR is contended with its modest growth in traffic and revenue over the years.
*IR have many options to try the new and innovative layouts with its trains/coaches.
*Unlike bus operators, IR have an added advantage of being manufacturer, as well as user of the trains.
*It has a dedicated R&D deptt. which should go for innovative coach desigs to optimize the number of paxs, convenience to paxs and at the same time maximisation of revenue from these coaches.
