Re# 2260065-9
Parli-Parbhani was a metre gauge route and Parli-Vikarabad was a Broad gauge. It used to be a MG-BG junction till about 1994. The route is quite hilly south of Parbhani and some tunneling would be required to re-route the tracks to avoid a reversal. During GC, a new station was not constructed as the route wasn't expected to have much traffic and a new station would have been far out from the town. Most of the freight traffic in the route is destined for the Thermal plant at Parli, and in general the freight traffic was low, and not to mention, no train on the route is ever expected to skip Parli, so they never constructed a bypass there.

But like you said, a bypass is a must for all junction stations to deal with such exceptional situations and in general, as a step for the future.

It can be diverted via Vikarabad-Latur-Kurduwadi.
No need to go Parli n PBN.
this route have no loco reversal, After Wadi n Vikarabad, Coach position will also remain same and train will continue after Kurduvadi.

Indian railway uses shortest distance while diverting trains.
As per your suggestion, Latur - Kurduwadi - Daund - Manmad is 570 Km where as Latur - Aurangabad - Manmad is only 420 Km i.e. less by 150 Km.
Hence re routed via Aurangabad.

Agree,
But unnecessarily, passengers of Solapur, Kurduvadi, Daund, Ahmednagar, Belapur & Kopargaon passengers may face inconvenience.....
And as always, IR announced, inconvenience cause deeply regretted.
if they diverted via Latur - Kurduwadi, automatically time will save, Loco-reversal will save and only Solapur people have to travel Osmanabad/Barshi Town, which is directly connected by MH-ST bus services with a frequency of every 15 min.
Anyways,

by looking this, it is proofed, that from "inconvenience cause deeply regretted", this 'deeply regretted' is only a word for railways, which does not come from the heart.
