i request to railways please take some decision about Osmanabad-Tuljapur Railway track
तुलजाभवानी ही महाराष्ट्रातल्या लाखो लोकांचे कुल दैवत आहे त्यामुले तुलजापुर ला खुप लोक येतात
more over Tuljapur is just 22 kms away from Osmanabad so please construct Osmanabad-Tuljapur railway track as early as possible

solapur is more accessable by train than osmanabad. Its a junction and also on the main line between mumbai and the south of India. As such, it is more accessable to a lot more people/pilgrims easily than osmanabad is. It would make more sense to connect solapur to tuljapur first than osmanabad. Despite the difference in the elevation of solapur and tuljapur, and the higher distance, you will realise that it might end up being a more profitable for railways. This is also a possibility.
And BTW the railway official........ from what u say does not seem to have comitted to anything. HE has jsut got your hopes high.

Hello Indian Railways have managed to lay tracks in the hilly terrains of Jammu and Kashmir, Konkan railways, ...... And trust me they run regular servies on those routes too. The terrain between Solapur and Tuljapur I am sure is no more harder than that. Afterall the region is on the deccan plateau. So give our IR engineers some credit and pray for priority and progress on the track between solapur and tuljapur
do you have anything in print fromm IR as to a IR press release? Dont go by that railway official, you might end up being disappointed. Not that the press release won't but thats more authentic.
Of course IR can lay track in challnging areas like Kokan and J&K but how can you compare that with UMD-Tuljapur link? J&K connectivity is very important with political aspects too, and we could save lot of distance (Mumbai-Mangalore) with Kokan Railway!
UMD-Tuljapur wouldnt be commercially viable!

The guy was saing that Solapur - tuljapur was a diffucalt bet on account on varied elevations as compared to tuljapur UMD. The comparison was done purely to highlight that IR is technically capable to build and run tracks in the most challenging terrains. I am totally with you on concerns wrt. commercial viability of the project. But then if railways dont get into these pockets then the region will take longer to develop. You have to make an investment to make a profit.
