Just read it in newspapers, The contract of the Catering company got cancelled on 8th May. When the Pantry staff got this news at NDLS, about 40 of them got down at the station itself, leaving only 4,5 employees. Due to this, food could not be served to most passengers. Lots of passengers started tweeting and stopped the train at CNB and summoned Railway staff / Ministry officials too got involved.
As a repercussion the IRCTC Base Kitchen at Ranchi got surprise visitors yesterday from SER HQ and they did inspection of all the food and packaging for the NDLS bound RAJ. Probably IRCTC will now handle the catering for RNC Raj too now onwards (I am not sure about this...
