Mangalore needs dedicated connectivity to mumbai.
If extended to kannur ,then quota for maq people will become less.
Also it has RSA with MAQ -TVC
Also TT would be impratical during monsoon season.

Manglore also has a daily connectivity which is majn cstm sf exp....secondly by extending a train how can a region lose its quota in reservation? Its all computerised and railways bid farewell to quota years before.
Thirdly rake sharing with 47/48 came only before some 10 years. Till then this train did not have a rake sharing neither the other one . So if extended the rake sharing can be stopped.
Fourthly during monsoon the train time can be altered which is not a strange thing which can be implemented.
