Motamarri–Vishnupuram New Line.

Motamarri–Vishnupuram New Line - is the line that connects Vijayawada-Kazipet line to Guntur-Hyderabad line. One of the intermediate station is to come up in Jaggayyapet Town. I visited this town yesterday. Here are some pics and info for interested railfans.

1 - 4 : The station yard, where the PFs will come up.
Pic 5 - 9 : The line towards Mellacheruvu.
Pic 10: Just a pic of River Krishna which I crossed in the boat on my way to Jaggayyapet.

Line Info:
1. I was surprised that the line is electrified too. I thought that a basic new line would be there with Goods trains hauled by Diesel Locos using it.
2. I was told that the line is electrified till Mellacheruvu. And further till Vishnupuram the line is completed and its not electrified.
3. The black soot on the tracks is that of Coal. Many freights here are of coal and the line caters to the various heavy industries in and around this town and further.

Note: The above info is just for interested railfans and not for any IRI Atlas updation or anything as such.

Thanks.

I always try to explore AP as much as possible when I visit. So I didn't go by Vijayawada route but by Narasaraopet route (also to see electric locos on the newly commissioned Cumbum line), so yes boat is required for that route.
