Masagram - Mathnashipur - Rainagar section has been running for over an year now I guess
Rainagar - Bankura is an old section !

Oo.. I was totally unaware of it. This is a good short route I think. It may help decongest HWH & DGP/ASN in future & loco reversal can be avoided too for NE bound trains
LR would be needed at Masagram for trains approaching Bankura from Adra side
LR would be needed both at Masagram and Bankura for trains approaching Bankura from Kharagpur side
However it is a much shorter route than HWH KGP BQA !
