Rail ministry has been constantly facing the brunt of opposition and media after frequent derailment incidents in the last 1-2 months. In fact that was considered as one of the reasons to free Suresh Prabhu of the rail ministry task. But Amit Shah has clarified that it is just a way of giving everyone a chance. According to him every Rail minister will get a term which is equal to three derailments, after which someone else will take care of the ministry. Amit shah said that,” Changing Railway tracks is a tedious process and a long one too. So its better to change the minister itself. This way the blame will not fall on any particular shoulders.”
Most of the MPs are happy with Amit Shah’s announcement. Rail ministry is a dream ministry for any MP as it has historical and political appeal. Piyush Goyal while taking charge of the ministry has promised travelers that he will try hard to lessen the frequency of derailments and will make sure that he remains in charge for at least 2-3 months. He was seen taking tips from Suresh Prabhu as to how to deal with media and opposition questions after any derailment incident. Amit Shah has in fact asked MPs to apply for the post of Rail ministry and based on the application, the future ministers will be decided.
