Usually the LB would be allocated for RAC passengers.
Then 3 people will sit on the LB with MB folded.
Sometimes, SLB is also given for RAC.

Will take a nice heavy THE HINDU news paper and lay between the wall and berth and sleep happily.
P.S : Nothing to make offence about the THE HINDU here.
I remember, my grandma insists buying this paper as she says that its very heavy and gets 0.50/- for every paper sold. Of course, she cannot read English :P

The SMB person's seat is allotted in the 6 berth bay for sitting - i have seen this in GR (2215 & 2216) also - to explain - 1st bay consists of berth Nos.1-6 berths (LB, MB,UB) and an extra sitting accommodation for SMB No.8 (7-8-9 for SL,SM,SU) shared with berth Nos.4,5,6.
I once got SMB in kaveri express (now it is not there) in SL. casually I chkd A/c.. about 7 Berth was vaccant in 3rd A/c. I immediately shifted to 3rd A/c after informing SL TTE and occupaid a vacant UB
