districts (including dumka distraict of jharkhand) and is the highest revenue generator of UDL - SNT route, also its the district capital and the largest city of Birbhum. It was supposed to be a junction and a new BG line was supposed to be laid between siuri and prantik (bolpur) but due to land acquisition issues, the project has been shelved as of now.
