The Vishvanathar temple here, one of the ancient temples built during the
Pandyas period is considered to be “Banaras of south India” and has a large

was not finished by the kind, was constructed recently and is one of the
tallest Gopurams in Tamilnadu. The Ilangi Kumarar, Thirumalai Kumarar
temples are also located nearby and both the temples are very famous, ancient
and loved to be visited by the large number devetees from South Tamil Nadu.
