I would like to differ here please.
A few months back I had a "confirmed" 2AC ticket and it got upgraded to 1AC
So it is not necessary that only WL passengers are upgraded.
I am not telling that only waitlist passengers can be upgraded. What I am telling is that upgradation will happen only if there is a WL passeneger in the lower class. In your case, there may be some WL passenger in 2AC while berths were vacant in 1AC, so you were upgraded.
I would like to know that when the rail when will the Gauge conversion of line from Jaunpur to Aunrihar is to be completed.
As the Honarable railway minister Miss Mamta Banarjee has stated that the passanger train is going to start on this route, is the route of some of the express train going to be transfered .
auto up gradation is depends on vacancy of berths in upper class like first ac & 2ac &3ac
It is driven by WL in lower class, vacancy in upper class is not a driving factor. Just because there are berths vacant in upper class does not mean that they would be filled up with lower class passengers.
