Durunto is again another topic and now duruntos are turning it to be common.
But DD is started with great attraction and there were many people who came to wave the flag rather than travelling in this train.
For those who are against increase of rail fares of passenger,here goes my undeerstanding.
Every day,its said that about 1-1.25 Cr people travel in trains....

So, increase in fares will fall on these 1 Cr people. And again, how many will travel every month or repeated times in a month. Not many.
But IR, since goods wagon cannot vote, have increased the freight fares.
Thus the essential commodoties prices will increase. And if the fares match with road transport, they prefer to get transported via roadways which is not a good practice.
Again, the fares of AC classes are increased. Now, the thinking of IR goes this way. The burden of fares would not be felt on the RICHER CLASS.
Very true but the richer would take additional burden and adopt to the Air travel. In most of the routes, the 1st& 2nd AC fares are on par or more than the Airfares.
Reg the Farmers,
They defnitely need the moral and financial support for our survival in this country. They are the most deserved ones in case of any susbsidies.
Of course this is a debated topic again.
