Suman Konar 4 blog postsI booked tatkal e-ticket for my parent vide PNR no:6302039979 on 07/10/2011 from Sambalpur to Howrah by Sambaleswari Express (Train no 18006, Journey date 9/10/11). But due to running more than 4hr 30min delay behind schedule departure from Sambalpur, my parents changed their plan & came back home. Next day on 10/10/2011 I filed a TDR (vide ref:ekt2011101003425252). The total cost of Ticket was 2248 INR. But it is surprising to see that after filing TDR I got Rs. "Zero" as refund amount. My question is if we are not responsible for delay and as per rule more than 3 hrs delay passanger can get full refund, then why till today I hvn't received any amount. Also some passangers already got full refund (paper ticket) in the booking counter at that day itself after endorsing by head ticket collected. Please help and clear my doubt.
If the delay(rescheduling) is well announced in media, then the option which you have selected 'Delay more than 3 hours' will not be valid. Instead, you could have filed the TDR stating that the passengers have not traveled and you could have got some refund.
Since, its tatkal ticket, I doubt whether anyone would get the refund in these cases.
Leaving the tatkal and other charges, I guess you are eligible for 50% of the base fare.
