New Delhi, Nov 11: Union Railways Minister, Dinesh Trivedi on Friday (today) declared new rules for booking Tatkal tickets. The tatkal reservation scheme helps to meet the urgent requirement of the passengers who plan their journey at short notice.
According to the new rule, tatkal tickets can now be booked only 24 hours before the commencement of railway journey.
Railways Ministry also barred from booking tatkal tickets between 8 am to 10 am. The move has been initiated by the Railway Ministry to stop black-marketing in the sale of tickets. The Railway

Ministry has also announced that CCTV cameras would be installed before tatkal counters so that misuse of tickets can be stopped.
The new tatkal rules will come into effect within a week. The Ministry also said that no duplicate ticket would be issued if the tatkal ticket is lost. Moreover, in a bid to avoid proxy booking, no money would be refunded in case a passenger cancels a confirmed tatkal ticket.
