Yes same like EMD I think which produces mechanical power through diesel combustion system and this power used to rotate alternator which inturn produces electrical power which is fed to Electric motors where the output of motors is again mechanical one which is nothing but torque which moves train.
This one what you are telling is from Railways decision or its your wish ? I mean they have plans to replace passenger trains to DEMU on the routes you mentioned above ?
Bhai as you said it accelerate quickly and covers distance between two stations early compared to passenger trains with Alco taking time to accelerate so this means this DEMU which now running might be taking less time to cover stretch between SUR to GDG and vice versa compare to previous. Any one travelled and saw that now newly DEMU takes less time than previously running service ?
recently when am travelling from gtl to krnt a regular traveller/vendor in that route said about this info that they are replacing psgrs to demu..
