why is that always people say train food is not good..is it that they dont serve hygenic food or low quality served?

it depends upon the individual whether they like the food provided by pantry. while you cant expect delicious home cooked food, they should maintain some standards. in some trains they are maintaining standards and hygiene and the pantry provided food are good. in certain trains, they do not maintain hygiene. but to brand the pantry car provided food is totally bad or very good is wrong.
earlier, the food provided by base kitchen was also not upto the mark. nobody had the fortune to see how was it maintained and so nobody could comment on that regarding hygiene etc. in train pantry the standards are there to see in open and you can make your guess and act accordingly.

IT IS pvt prarty or rly contractor i do not know but the food supplied in train from jammu to ndls (night serivce) is fantastic and he charged rs 50 per plate very hot and tasty and worth paying, we do not have time and stamina to note his name etc as after vishnavdevi darshan one wl be very much tend to sleep than to c all these
this the major problem in India now a days called corruption and hence true leaders are fighting for it and politician opposing.
Yesterday a news flash was a drug inspector caught red-handed taking bribes and when Vigilance search his lockers they got 2Carores 15lakh rs now just think he was drug inspector and what he has done in his tenure to earn that much amount of money. And our indian railway a big ocean for such think even though few good people still there for such wonderful achievement

the major thing that i feel railways should introduce having a pantry if the journey is 24hrs or so like introducing in trains like udyan express,chalukya express and some other trains which will be beneficial to passengers
