yes NFR should think of changing the terminal of origination trains from NJP to SGUJ, trains like NJP mas, Njp ac exp, paharia, NJP smi, NJP ndls should terminate and originate from SGUJ only
but many pax wont go to SGUJ , NJP is easily reachable. so it has be either SGUJ NJP AUB KNE or NJP SGUJ NAK AUB , NJP halts is Compulsory (at least 10 mins).
SGUJ can be used for Parking the rakes from day time to evening.

But NJP mainly serves Siliguri city only. Although name of the station is New Jalpaiguri but the main Jalpaiguri city is far away from this station (40km+ distance)
Even when my father also travel to Jalpaiguri to my aunt's house, he prefer to deboard at JPE instead of NJP

Jalpaiguri is different town, JPE is nearest stn for that.
for Siliguri, NJP is first choice stn, widely accessible from all corners of the city.
So SGUJ has mostly DEMU, UR ICE, Locals & not imp trains.
