If a person got RAC 1 later, any cancellation had been take place so basically Ticket will be Confirmed na.
How ticket status will be downgrade to RAC?

I thought in case of xoach augmentation the WL clearing is done only at preparation of the chart. Have you seen bulk clearing of waiting list before preparation of chart?
Coach Augmentation when announced, is done quite many days before & same is been updated into system!!
Its not bulk clearance happening in such case!!
If the augmentation is been made uninformed (to clear WL) or just few days before journey commencement day, then only @ charting, Bulk Clearance happens!!

Yes i agree with jaihid... in case of a coach failure may it be AC or SL, Confirmed passengers of that coach are adjusted in another coach by downgrading them to RAC ( this is done if the passenger is willing to travel, else its a full refund ticket), in such circumstance a WL 20 may be on WL 60 on final chart. (but belive me its rare).
.Me too agrees with Jaihind. Your point about the whole thing being rare is perfectly true.
