On March 30 2010, the Shornur-TVC Venad Express had an unscheduled unjustifiable stop at the new platform of Kochuveli station. Annoyed passengers eager to reach their homes made frantic calls to media offices. After halting there for nearly 45 minutes, the train quietly left the station to reach Tvm Central at 10.50 p.m. The train was berthed at Pl. No. 4. The Janshatabdi train which arrives at 8.45 p.m. was still on Platform No.1.
If the railway employees are not very keen on running the trains on time for the convenience of passengers, the authorities must give serious thoughts for privatising all or certain key areas of Indian Railways.
