There used to be a feature called BoTD - Blog of the day. Should that or some similar feature be brought back?

Very good suggestion!
And this will be effective too if some members are made into a group (without revealing who they are) and are appointed to choose the member whose blogging was the best on that day. They can choose the next day and announce.
Then everyone will show interest in answering others queries or new members questions and participate in a more involved manner.
