Hi,
Am planning to take my high-end bicycle by train from Bangalore to Chennai. . In my research i have found that you can take the bicycle and keep it in the luggage/brake van.
So my question is
1. how do I know which are the trains which have brake vans (or do all the trains have brake vans?)

Please visit the Originating station on the previous afternoon. There will be agents who do the packing and loading the two wheelers in the train. They charge a nominal fee. For booking my son's motor cycle from Coimbatore to Chennai they charged me Rs.180, which included cost of all the packing materials also. The railway freight charges have to paid in addition. The agents guide you in filling up the forms as well. They will send the bike to your destination by the next available train. Check with them by which train the bike has been sent. At Chennai go to the luggage office at the extended end of Platform. They work from 7 am. Check the platform in which the train through which your bike has been sent. Go to the platform.
