As i was going through AMS maps (thanks Anirudh Sir :P) for raigad district, I found this weird MG line running in Raigad district, almost perpendicular to today's KR/CR line
the line starts around Mulshi dam, at some distance below the main mountain range which has Mulshi lake, then runs along a stream that comes from the lake, and the runs alongside Kundalika river before crossing Kolad and then eventually terminating at Roha
Google search throws up nothing of note, although i suspect the line may have had something to do with maintenance...

Amazing :)
Your ability to answer questions across India with an amazing accuracy is incredible, to say the least.
Roha, even today, isn't much more than non descript town, and as such it isn't surprising that line died once buses become faster
Chinchwad mulshi line, sadly, could have been popular as many in pune travel there today for weekend outing.

Thank you. :)
The Chinchwad-Mulshi line is mentioned in several records of the TATA Power co. and the agitations on the line were the subject of discussion in some contemporary legislative assembly debates. One IRFCA member had tried to track the alignment and posted a few pictures of some ruined culverts in the gallery. But the TATA power co's records are the main source of any available information on the line.

Thanks, you really are an asset to this site. :)
I have been to roha, trust me I never found anything close to railway line there.
Thanks to you I found this :)

Thanks for the info. I had asked the same question a few days back, and an online search led me to this page. The end of the line at Roha can be traced to an old jetty that extends into the river. Next to this jetty is an open space, which could have been the railway terminus at Roha. . The location of the terminus at the base of the Mulsi dam cannot be easily determined: lot of development there.
