CHANDIGARH: The Dappar-Chandigarh double lane track would be open for rail traffic from Thursday, enabling trains to ply at a speed of 110kmph and cut travel...
It is reported that
* Shatabdi to run 5kmph faster and other trains 10kmph faster, to a speed of 110kmph on Dappar-Chandigarh, 23km newly doubled track.
* Journey time reduction of 5-7 minutes expected.
But journey time saved should be more, as trains do't have to wait for giving pass to the trains coming from opposite direction.
