There is a separate tab for "trips". One can access details of trips here. But whenever trip updates are posted, they are also posted in main forum. As trips will be updated continuously they will be in top / better position in main forum and other blog posts go down in main forum. Even though if anybody replies to news it will also get posted in main forum. But number of reply posts to news will be less. But in trips number of posts will be high. Where as any reply to timeline entries will not be bought in main forum, they stay in timeline forum. So do you want trip entries & replies / updates to stay only in trips section just like timeline entries i.e., trip entries & replies / updates must not be visible in main forum?
