Here's an interesting Quiz for you all.
Attached is the screenshot of BERTH Avail of 5722 NJP-DGHA Exp in 1A on 30-03-2012.
it Shows it has 8 BERTHS from NJP to DGHA.

actually i dont know about this rl? but if someone books 8 berths from hwh to dgha? what happens to the availability position? it will show av 8 upto howrah and for njp-Dgha it will show WL1 GN. And if a HWH-DGHA gets cancelled, it will get confirmed. IMHO this whole sector is GNWL. But you may know better
I agree with the comment of Sh. Sudhir so far the possibility is concerned. But my experience does not substantiate this as the Quota is single and the same has been occupied, may be for a part of the sector. In such cases, so far I have seen WL to be introduced and on charting, confirmation for the remaining sector.
I think there are 3 Quotas here.
NJP-DGHA=GN
NJP-HWH=PQ
HWH-DGHA=RL
Sudhir's Explanation holds good as i have checked the availability for all three sectors for othe days also.

in this case, the availability situations indicates that there is overlap across gn, pq and rl. IMHO it never happens ie. if booked till dgha it becomes Gn, if the same berth is booked till HWH, it becomes a PQ allocation AND if the same berth is booked from HWH to DGHA then it becomes RL. In this case, I still feel everything is first come first served - GN...Anyway, we are discussing academics, we know the practical situation is.....Thanks Sayasachi for an interesting quiz
