@ RFs from Mumbai or anybody who can answer,
I have booked a ticket in 18520 from LTT to VSKP on 4 july 2018. This train has no scheduled stop b/w LTT and Pune, so will have to board it from LTT only. I will be travelling light with just one small bag, so I am thinking to board the 5 am around local for Panvel and get down at Tilak Nagar and walk to LTT. So is getting down at Tilak nagar and walking to LTT around 5:30 am safe? And what are the options (along with safety) if I get down at Kurla?

It is safe to move from Tilak Nagar to LTT @5:30. There will be moving crowd of passengers at that time.
Perfectly safe, from Pf1 of Tilak Nagar it bearly takes about 5 mins to LTT. Walking isn't much of an issue
Although it does not have a halt anywhere between, it stops at Thane Platform no 7 for clearance. On most of the days, waits for Pune Intercity overtake.
I once took this train from Thane to Pune and travelled in UR.
Please note this might not work if the train is late.

Na, would not try this as I don't want to go with the uncertainity of unscheduled stop. Had it been a scheduled stop either at TNA or KYN, would hav been definitely boarded there. But as of now will board at LTT after staying overnight at CSMT dormitory.
Totally safe. Infact it will be pretty crowded at this morning time due to office rush. You will easily get this train by taking the local till Tilaknagar.
