Absolutely. If Intercity had remained a white elephant, it would have long been cancelled along with that Kasaragod Byndoor Passenger. But 22635 was always a decently performing train. Problem was only with 22636 since it trailed 56640 very closely.
Pretty good occupancy towards Mangalore. This was at Byndoor and most passengers on that day had opted for late running JBP CBE Special. Yet the occupancy of ICE was decent.
Madgaon Janshatabdi is a very highly successful and one of the very punctual trains on Konkan stretch with an aggressive schedule. Already it's having perfect RSA with Jalna JS. So, its better not to dwell into altering it on the basis of Past happenings. If the demand is so, then better SR should start a full day time intercity from Mangalore to Mumbai just like SC-VSKP Janmabhoomi express and Mandovi express. It can have a departure slot in between JS and Mandovi while running from Mumbai to Madgaon.
Punctuality will not get affected if it becomes 23 coaches train.
I am totally against any kind of hampering or altering with 12051/52 JS. Why in first place touch it when its doing perfectly ? Instead a completely new train should be started for Mangalore and that too by SR.
