A Scenario for Knowledge base and Info for all.
Suppose i want to travel from Howrah to Bangalore and i would like to travel via Chennai.
I booked a Ticket from Howrah to SBC with Reservation upto MAS on 2841 on Friday from Howrah which consists of the First leg of the Journey.
For Onward Journey i have the option to travel on 2657,6222
...
and 2292 the journey day being Saturday.I see only Confirmed Berths are available ONLY in 2292 and opt to book the same from MAS to YPR.
MY QUESTION IS:
1)WILL I be Able to book from MAS to YPR as part of the Onward journey ticket.(PLs mind that i already have ticket booked from Howrah to SBC and had reservation till MAS in the First leg of the Journey).
The Distance from MAS - SBC is 362 kms while from MAS- YPR is 370 kms.
That means though i have been charged to book till SBC, i am booking an EXTRA of 8 kms by opting for YPR which i may not have paid earlier.
AnyBody can Crack the Answer????

not sure of the answer but i feel that the blank paper ticket or reservation slip will not be issued for ypr though it is a cluster station of bangalore...but had it been, the case that you wanted to go for longer route at 1st change point it would have been accepted...for eg.if i want to go from bgp to mas via hwh...but i get a tkt for a train from sdah to mas(just an example) for the second leg,i will be given a ticket, although even in this case the kilometres will exceed the distance that i am paying for...this is from my personal experience and not any rule book...still not sure...
