Been travelling in this train atleast once a month since an year now. The food situation has become really bad on the train.
First the bottles we get at 4.20pm at NDLS are hot, not even medium chilled. Second I remember they gave soup and desert on this train upto Bathinda, both are not served anymore which is okay.
The dinner is consistently served after 8.30pm when the train reaches Bathinda an average at 8.55pm, Majority of the seats are booked for Bathinda in this train.

Yes people do. Not full though. But festival days do patronize it well.
I'd like to answer about that. General perspective in return journey i.e., 12047 is well. Because of no Good evening service from Delhi to Bti/Fzr side Gets patronage too. But Up journey is concerning. Train's speed and departure time should be changed to get more passengers attracted. 4:00am is too early to board a shatabdi.
yes , it can depart like 12014 at 5:00 or 5:30 in the morning to reach Delhi at 11:30. this train has potential to cover the whole distance in 6 hours but has been presented with the most sluggish time table.. I have heard from some where that ..People in Railways wants to benefit local private operators by doing that.
Thats not true. FZR - NDLS BUS services run via LDH. None of the bus from Fzr to Ndls go via bthinda side. Which is about 60+km more. Why would people prefer that.
