The train departs from Hubballi at 20:00 hrs. and arrives at Pondicherry at 15:00 hrs. the next day.

Good train and for your information this Nuggikere lake is at Dharwad near to SDM Engineering college beside railway tracks towards hubli and 21km from hubli and it's nice to visit in monsoon to this lake and their is one temple also beside lake.. First I thought this place have lot of drum stick trees which is in kannada language Nuggikai but after I visit I found its nothing such to name this lake as Nuggikere as per drum stick trees..
Good best train for give there Before Back Extened Property Feasible From Vasco-Hubballi - Pondicherry Express
I think keeping it till UBL is ok. Extending it to VSG will be tough given the track condition.
