booked 4 tatkal tickets in this train. all got confirmed before journey. However while booking i didnt have my ID card handy. coz in IRCTC it didnt show as a manadatory field when i checked the previous day.
However while booking it refused to go forward without the ID card numbers. I faintly remembered the first four digits of my DL and typed in there.

it wasnt a fine. i paid a bribe. i wasnt even having 5000 odd that he was asking for.
I understand it was my mistake. but i think i had given him enough proof for the same. he was being unrealistic is that what i found.
(I really thought showing the bank account statement should convince him)

I think instead of taking initiative from your end for exposing your own mistake TTE may have not noticed "minor " mistake.

Crime is very relative word.here the passenger was genuine it was "honest mistake"passenger even came with the alternatives to show his sincerity.
LAW is very dry in nature..however human emotions are not.
