i am asking one of the complicated question which loco is better wap4 or wdm3d? which is better to haul 24 coach train?

both the loco can haul 24 coach easily at speed of 120km/hr but pick up speed of wap4 is more than wdm3d due to its high hp.
i didnt understood ,can you explain me in very simple word or in hindi? what is emd,shf?
